Abilities et al.
SPECIES:
The Keldran gods are a race belonging to the planet Keldra. They are known as Kayori, which is literally an ancient word for 'god' or 'deity'. It's useful to refer to themselves as something other than gods when on other worlds. These gods are not omnipotent. They are similar to the Olympian gods, and the Norse gods, in that they are not all-seeing. They are fallible.
They draw their power from the sentient Danaë nebula that surrounds their star system. Normally they are almost impossible to kill. They are also more powerful on their homeworld than on any other world.
This one is a higher god of the world. One of the Chieftains. Drake is over two thousand Earth years old now; relatively young for a god, as are all Kayori, being a comparatively new race.
TITLES:
His full name is Drakus Kaelen, but he's okay with begin called Drake. (Drakus means dragon in the ancient tongue.)
Official: (Some titles are old and come from the time Drake spent as a vampire. Not all of them have stuck)
Eldest son of Solus Kaelen (the original clan chieftain, now deceased.)
Clan chieftain and first son of the Great House Of The Flame.
Monarch of the five levels of hell: Nadherna, Rathel, Konor, Jesaurek, and theoretically Nanür. Nadherna is Drake's home realm and is the least hellish.
First Son of the Great House of the Flame.
The Dark Lord.
Hellgod.
God of Darkness, Death and Sex.
In folklore:
The Dark Fucking Lord
The Vampire God.
The Dragon. (Dragons in general are dragons. Whenever The Dragon is discussed by gods and mortals alike, this refers specifically to Drake.)
ABILITIES:
Flight: When in dragon form: although Drake can partially shift, manifesting dragons wings, and can fly in this adapted human form.
Bolts or blasts of energy Projected from his palms, as a weapon, in human form, or fire-breathing as a dragon. Kayori can also 'block' bolts fired at them either with their palms, absorbing it, or with a counter-blast of energy.)
All Kayori have an immunity to fire. (Hellfire included) Only the chieftains have an immunity to dragonfire. (Drake doesn't know it yet, but he's now immune to soulfire.)
Types of fire in this canon, in order of power:
1. Fire as used by mortals in mortal realms. Even volcanoes and high-temperature smelting plants use regular mortal fire. The sun itself is not fire as such, but is a nuclear reaction - however, this is still considered a 'mortal' fire by most gods. Nuclear-reaction heat is considered mortal in general.
2. Hellfire. Hotter and more supernatural. Demons are immune, but even some supernatural beings are not. All Kayori are immune, young and mature, as are wraith.
3. Dragonfire & Angelfire are fairly equal. Only angels are immune to angelfire, and dragons are immune to dragonfire. Not vice versa. Only Kayori chieftains are immune to these two.
4. Soulfire - burns away the soul, and can kill even gods/Kayori... apart from the Dragon God.
5. Voidfire - Only Kuvahli and Its offspring are immune
Element: Fire (and light.) Although all Kayori have some degree of control over other elements. For example Drake can warm air, and melt rocks and metal. He can make water boil and can illuminate the darkness/shadow.
Limited Telepathy: All Chieftains have this, though it doesn't compare to the psychic abilities of Vahlmir Ravenhead. Drake is capable of communicating telepathically, mostly to other Kayori, but he can initiate any of the various psychic mating bonds, which enable telepathic communication, and some empathy.
Supernatural: To some extent, Drake is sensitive to supernatural elements and beings. He can often discern an impression of what they are. This ability is less pronounced away from his homeworld.
Psychic blocks: Is extremely strong-willed and hypnosis is generally ineffective. Vahlmir has protected all of his kind, and taught the Kayori how to put up effective psychic blocks. (though none of these are as impenetrable as those of the Son of Void.)
Healing Drake heals rapidly from any injuries, unless inflicted by higher beings. He can also heal others, (all Kayori can) But as his element is fire, this can be painful for the recipient. Injuries heal rapidly, or instantly, depending on who has inflicted them. An ordinary mortal weapon has little effect, but as beings - or their weapons - get more powerful or magical, it takes longer for the Kayori body to heal. Limbs that are cut off, can be re-grown quite swiftly.
Languages: Drake has had many centuries in which to learn may languages. He doesn't have the gift to understand any and all of them, however. He will usually attempt telepathy if he doesn't understand a language, as that is a universal language and can be made to be understandable by anyone.
Fire related weather control Drake can bring the warmth of the sun, or block its effects completely, leaving the area feeling cold.
Fire manipulation: Drake can manipulate fire, using it as a weapon, to heat food, to illuminate the dark. Any associations with fire - are what he can achieve.
Teleportation: Self explanatory.
Telekinesis Now Drake is a dragon, he has magic and has this ability, being able to move objects.
Full shapeshift Can shift from humanoid form to dragonform and back again at will.
Partial teleport/shapeshift This modifies small things like hair length, fingernails, etc. Also, Kayori can clean themselves using this technique, but bathing and showering are sensual pleasures so they will choose those options it they are available. Drake cannot take on shapes other than his dragon form, but he can manifest dragon wings whilst humanoid.
No requirement for sleep or food (Not a necessity, but sleep and food are pleasurable so he does indulge)
Enhanced strength: Drake has always had vampire-strength, but as a dragon, he's even stronger.
Ability to kill powerful beings (Beings that are not ordinary mortals, such as vampires, demons, certain superpowered mortals, mutants, etc.)
Summoning & dismissal/Quantum manipulation: This is how he summons and dismisses objects. It also allows the healing ability, and an ability to repair or recreate things that have been damaged or destroyed.
Immortality/invulnerability He will live indefinitely without ageing any further. Mortals and beings less powerful than Drake cannot kill him without some kind of specialised weapon. If a Kayori is crushed to a pulp, decapitated, or sufficiently damaged so that they do in fact die, their remains will disappear and be re-manifested as a living body by the nebula. This temporary death is not an easy option. It takes a god many months to recover from the trauma, and they are incapacitated for most of this time. Invulnerable to fire, damage, disease and poison. As a dragon, Drake now has magic, so he's resistant to that too, and immune to many forms of it.
Magic: Dragons are magical, so Drake now has the ability to wield it. He's very inexperienced, however, and is not as powerful magically, as the Son of Void, who will almost always beat him in a duel, or while sparring. Almost.
On top of all that, Drake is experienced in many things, such as fighting, healing, travelling, etc, etc, oh, and sex... (Having once been an incubus-type vampire, he's also very fucking good at sex.)
Evolution: The older Kayori are already becoming capable of turning elemental, eg. Vahlmir can become a hurricane or tornado, and Drake can become pure flame, or even lava when he couples with Maeridia. This is a more advanced form of shift - though it's not a shapeshift, more a powershift. The more powerful and older Kayori are destined to become Powers. Not all of them will achieve this, many of the younger generations will remain gods. (Gods are not the same as Powers!)
WEAKNESSES:
hypnosis, mesmerism: Drake has lost this ability now he's no longer a vampire.
Take someone he loves and you can cripple him... temporarily. Just bear in mind you'll get a bunch of livid Chieftains all up in your face. Five gods who are greater than the sum of their parts.
Drake can be destroyed by a weapon known as a quantum lance. This is powered by a Keldran soulstone, and if the lance is fully charged, by energy bolts thrown during a fight for example; plunging the sharp end into his chest or back and releasing its energy will destroy even a Kayori Chieftain. The lance has to be wielded by another Kayori Chieftain however, or a god of equal power to Drake. Due to Kayori evolution, killing them will become harder and harder.
Quantum + magical weapons in general may harm Kayori. Quantum restraints used in tangent with magic, can restrain them, or block their powers. They are evolving fast, though. So it's a bit of an arms race, if you want to harm them.
Kayori can also be destroyed by beings who are more powerful than they are... if they are away from their homeworld and the nebula, from which they draw power. They may or may not stay dead. If they are resurrected (which is usually the case) they are traumatised and their powers go awry. It takes several months for them to recover from this, so death is not an easy option.
Gold - not a huge weakness, but dragons adore gold, and while Drake can rise above the urge to shred everyone so he can grab that pretty amulet or goblet, he does find gold mildly distracting. It's nice okay? It's all... goldy, and tastes good when you bite down on it. It's kind of ... mesmerising. In a violent, emergency or serious situation, however, Drake can easily shrug off such urges. It isn't an addiction, it's just that he quite likes it. Does he have a hoard? Well, he's probably building one. Drake is a generous sort, and if he likes someone he may make a gift of gold which is charmed to bring good fortune. However, it's quite the opposite if somebody steals from the hoard. Stolen Dragon gold is cursed. Your extremities may shrivel and drop off, or you may inexplicably catch something horrible - which can't be cured (even by Ylaia Narumi) until the gold is returned. Vandalising or damaging Drake's hoard won't do any harm, it'll only piss him off and nobody needs that shit.
